Mission
At Columbia College Chicago, all undergraduate students complete requirements of the Columbia Core Curriculum, which provides a solid foundation in the liberal arts and sciences. The Honors Program offers an enhanced core curriculum experience tailored to our high-achieving undergraduate students who seek a greater academic challenge.

Honors Program Requirements, and to receive the designation of Honors Program Graduate on the final transcript:
*Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
*Complete 15 credit hours of Honors courses

Honors courses are open to any student who maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater, as long as they have met course prerequisites, and regardless of whether they are declared into the Honors Program.

You'll be in a classroom with other students who, like you, are eager for an intense intellectual experience with deeper levels of inquiry, and you'll study with faculty who have heightened expectations of student work and engagement. Your Honors participation will also show up in official college transcripts, giving you a leg up when you market yourself after graduation.

The collaborative opportunities that come with being a part of the Honors Program aren't just found in the classroom. Honors students are eligible to live on Honors-only floors in our residence halls, which also have resident assistants who are in the Honors Program too. Honors students also are invited to attend exclusive social events and educational trips around the city, participate in Honors-only activities on campus, and study and socialize in the Honors Program Study Lounge.

The Honors Program Senior Reception is held the week prior to Commencement and celebrates the achievements of graduating Columbia students with friends, family, and Honors faculty.

Mission
The mission of the Columbia College Chicago Library is to support Columbia College Chicago and its academic programs by providing access to information resources and teaching students to evaluate and use them. Our Library has a teaching mission, and is committed to preparing our users to be lifelong learners in an information rich society. It is a gathering place for intellectual and artistic freedom and expression, where we consistently surprise and delight our community with a fierce dedication to coloring outside of the lines in support of continuing education, research, and creative practice.

Need free, quality resources? Your student ID provides access to robust collections, including print books, e-books, physical and streaming films, music, articles, data, and much more, all selected to support and enrich your creative, academic and entrepreneurial work. The library also offers access to all textbooks over $40 via Course Reserves.

Would you like some assistance with research? Librarians are available to support your research and creative projects through live chat and email, online research guides, video tutorials, and Zoom research consultations.

Need access to technology? The library has computers, printers, scanners, 3D printers, a green screen, and other technologies available 75 hours a week, in addition to an equipment lending program that includes cameras, camcorders, projectors, digital recorders, and other resources to support your project and creative needs.

Want to connect with the Columbia community? The library programming and exhibits provide a wide range of opportunities to connect with both resources and each other. From learning new skills to working within a community of practice to winding down with others during regular gaming nights, there is a wide range of opportunities to connect across disciplines.

The library also offers a unique Little Food Library, available all hours the library is open for students experiencing food insecurity. Take what you need, give what you can.

Mission
Work, study, and live in the heart of Hollywood. Columbia College Chicago's Semester in LA (SiLA) program can provide you with critical experience in the media and entertainment industry to carry into your career after graduation. You'll explore your career interests through internships and class experiences that are only available in the Los Angeles area.

Membership Benefits
SiLA is competitive and merit-based. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Your eligibility includes:

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Completion of 75 credit hours before arrival at SiLA.

Significant progress in completing all core curriculum requirements.

No academic or disciplinary violations.

Application submission for only one term at a time.

Completion of the online application during the submission period. The application consists of:

Four short-answer essay questions.

Two written references: one from a faculty member and one from a professional such as an employer or volunteer supervisor.

A professional resume.

A 60-second video introducing yourself and your strengths.

All finalists will be invited to participate in a 10-minute personal interview.

Upon Acceptance

Acceptance to the program is conditional. There is a series of milestones you must meet before you can officially enroll. You will be given a list of these conditions as well as dates and procedures on how to satisfy them at orientation:

Academic self-audit with College Advising.

Meeting with Columbia's Career Center and registering with the college's employment database.

Proof of health insurance.

Attendance at orientation session(s).

Clearance of all restrictions to registration, including financial holds.

If you plan on graduating directly after the program, you will need to apply for graduation before leaving Chicago.

The Hokin is a professional gallery operated by Columbia College Chicago students enrolled in the Gallery Management Practicum. This course offers hands-on experience in the development, curation, installation, and operation of exhibitions, programs, and events. It is a student-run collaboration between the Business and Entrepreneurship department and the department of Exhibitions, Performance, and Student Spaces (DEPS) at Columbia College Chicago.

The mission of TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO) is for students to actualize their maximum potential and persist toward graduation. The objective of TRIO is to provide support that not only promotes the well-being of students, but also assist them toward achieving personal and academic goals. TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program.

TRIO serves students who are:

(1) First generation college students or
(2) Income eligible students or
(3) Students who have disabilities
