Abelardo Morell is well-known for transforming ordinary rooms into camera obscuras. His wide range of photographs have been showcased at the Art Institute of Chicago; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Brooklyn Museum, New York; the International Museum of Photography, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Smithsonian Institution International Gallery, Washington, DC.; among many others. He published his book A Camera in a Room in 1995 and was the subject of the documentary Shadow of the House (2007). Lectures in Photography are co-presented by MoCP and the Photography Department at Columbia College Chicago.
