In collaboration with Filter Photo Festival, MoCP and the School of Visual Arts at Columbia College Chicago welcomes artist Tarrah Krajnak for a combined program as part of Lectures in Photography and the Art Now! Lecture Series.

Tarrah Krajnak is a Los Angeles-based artist and educator. Her work investigates the consideration of bodies in photographs through connections to the earth, histories, and creative practices of other women. A 2024 Guggenheim Fellow, and 2020 recipient of the Lange-Taylor Prize from the Center for Documentary Studies, Krajnak’s work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Tate Modern, London; Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; and others.

Lectures in Photography is MoCP’s public lecture series inviting the most prominent voices shaping the ever evolving discourse in the field of photography.

Art Now! Lecture Series is organized by the School of Visual Arts at Columbia College Chicago where artists, curators, researchers, and practitioners are invited to Columbia to give students exposure to the rich range of perspectives, practices, and professional pathways possible for the contemporary creative.

Filter Photo is a non-profit organization supporting, elevating, and connecting photo-based artists through social and educational programming that fosters meaningful dialogue around contemporary photography to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive community dedicated to advancing the medium while positioning Chicago as a leading hub for contemporary and critical photo-based discourse.
