Greetings DnD Club,
Thank you for patience and for submitting your Recognition Packet to the Student Organizations and Leadership Office for the 2022-2023 academic year. Your materials have been reviewed and your organization is tentatively Approved to be eligible as a recognized student organization through the Student Organization Council (SOC). Before your organization is considered fully recognized, you must review and edit the following action steps.
Budget
I've attached the budget document you provided. Please submit a more detailed budget outlining how you wish to spend your funding for the upcoming year. Each organization is allotted an amount up to $1,400. You don't need a budget that outlines how you intend to spend all of the money, however, it would be helpful to outline what you expect to spend on upcoming events or the items you outlined in your submitted documentation.
Engage Portal: CampusGroups Student Organization Page Updates
You will receive a training on the Engage Portal during the upcoming SOC training. However, for now, please update your Engage Portal page with the following information:
- Officer Update: Update your Officer’s Page to remove previous officers, add new officers, and/or update officer titles. This will include your advisor.
- Events: Submit information about all upcoming events you are planning for the upcoming semester as soon as possible.
- Settings: Update your group information, contact information, links to your social media accounts, and any other pertinent information.
If you need assistance using the Engage Portal, please feel free to send me an email.
Student Organization Officer Leadership Training
Before your organization can be considered recognized, your President (or one of your founding council members) and at least one other council board member (SOC Representative suggested, if different than the other member) must complete Student Organization Officer Leadership Training. We strongly recommend you have as many executive board members trained as possible. Every student organization must have two unique representatives in attendance. This means that one student cannot represent more than one student organization at the training.
The training will take place online on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. The time is tentatively from 10am-5pm. Meal and screen breaks will be built in, and we might get done early. Please RSVP here. Registration deadline is Monday, August 22, 2022.
After your organization updates your Engage Portal page AND completes SOC training, you will be considered officially recognized.
Please let me know if you have any questions about your recognition status or any of the requirements above. The office of Student Organizations & Leadership would like to support your organization effectively with clear and open communication. Do not hesitate to reach out for assistance in this process.
Be well,
Orterio
