Please view these artist books, “one of a kind” codex-inspired creations that resulted from the HUMA121 course, “LATIN AMERICAN ART, LITERATURE AND MUSIC” instructed by Jesus Macarena-Avila. Alongside book display is a small community "ofrenda" inspired by the Mexican holiday, Dias de los Muertos.

This ofrenda remembers student activism, murdered by crime syndicates and/or political corruption. For example, Julio César Mondragón Fontes (1982-2014), a Mexican college student; fighting for education rights. Healing with Maya/Mexica smudging material: copal, sage, etc. displayed in the case.
