Already a zine maker? Interested in zines? Want to meet others at Columbia working in this format?  

The monthly zine sessions @yourlibrary are all about community. Whether you are a seasoned creator or just curious, join us for a hands-on deep dive into zine making and culture.  

Every session will have a technique demonstration with supplies for everyone to experiment with. Think Xylene transfers, Letraset, analog photo mods, etc. 
Attendees are welcome to share their favs too!  

Materials for collage, various papers, sharpies, scissors, etc. all will be on hand. Work on your own piece and/or create some pages for the collab zine of the session. Comix, photo zines, perzines, music/film zines, etc. all welcome!  

Information on upcoming Chicago zine scene highlights including opportunities, fests, shoutouts for distros, and some other resource hubs will also be shared. 

Bring your pages in progress or zines to swap or favorites from your collection to put on others' radar. 

And, of course, relevant highlights from the library collections will be on display to inform and inspire your work! 

Theme for this month: Civics - E Pluribus Unum - “Out of many, one” 

September 17th is Constitution and Citizenship Day.  
Our collab zine will be collecting pages that educate, celebrate, and/or critique our rights.
