Hello wonderful people!

 

I hope your week has been amazing so far, and I have a lot to share with you this week as we transition into Fall!

 

Firstly, I want to remind you all of WICKED WEEK, which will be taking place later in October from the 21st to the 25th. There are a ton of fun events planned, so keep an eye out for info from me and from student org pages! The theme this year is……. NEON NIGHTMARE!!!!

I don’t know about you, but Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, and I can’t wait to update you guys on all the fun things planned.

 

Next up…

Following that Halloween theme, there is a show presented by WCRX and Sessions @33 at Bassline Chicago on October 30th! 

THERE WILL BE A COSTUME CONTEST- so dress your best because i’m excited to see what everyone comes up with. Stay tuned for more info about the show!!

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED 

 

OCTOBER 10TH- 

The Student Programming Board here at Columbia is hosting a ‘Bats, Bagels, & Bingo’ event in the spirit of Halloween!

From 6-8 at HAUS (623 S. Wabash) you can play bingo, eat bagels, and win prizes!

OCTOBER 2ND-

Soul Sisters CCC is hosting a ‘Blind Karaoke’ event!

Come on by and see if you can sing without looking at the lyrics! It’s sure to be a great time.

6:30-8:30pm at HAUS! (623 S. Wabash)

 

OCTOBER 3RD

OCTOBER 17TH

Are you interested in becoming an RA next year? Get great resume experience, and so many more benefits!

Each info session will be from 7-9pm at the Student Center (754 S. Wabash) in the Boardroom- Room 244!

NEW SHOWS ON  88.1, WCRXFM

Join WCRX’s Sam Carlson Thursdays from 7-9pm on 88.1 for their show ‘Recovering Theatre Kid!’

A great segment where your favorite musicals are played, and you can discover some new ones! Be sure to tune in at the link below!

Next up… join David Geisler at 10am on Saturdays for ‘An Artificial Podcast’, where he talks with an Ai bot (she/it). This week’s segment will be on the bot’s concept of time!! So interesting, I'm curious about what it thinks! Tune in this Saturday!

Finally, join Olivia Rokicianski on Saturdays at 10:30am for ‘Dopamine Express’, where she talks with people about their obsessions / fixations, maybe you’ll learn something new!

!DZ RILEY SESSION IS OUT!

This Session was recorded back in April, and it’s finally out for you all to see!

NEXT, we have Sessions @33, which will be starting back up again soon, recording bands and artists live! Think of it as Columbia’s version of NPR’s Tiny Desk- Sessions is a ton of fun and we’d love to see you there!

We have recordings starting back up TODAY at 6:30 pm, as well as next Thursday at 6:30pm, and Saturday September 28th from 11am - 5pm 

If you’d like to come see what we have going on, reply to this email and let us know- we’d love to have you!!

Whether or not you’re a performer, we have tons of opportunities to volunteer and add to your portfolio / resume! You can film, help with audio, take pictures, or even style the performers!
