Table Write was established in 2018 with a distinct vision: to support the student screenwriters of Columbia. Table Write meets on a biweekly basis during the semester and weekly basis in the summer. Each meeting consists of student scripts being read and feedback being given. Table Write is the place for student screenwriters to connect and improve their craft outside of class. The organization strives to provide resources like class advice and professional tips to students.
Members will always receive constructive, measured and optimistic feedback from the group, who are familiar enough with feedback to know how to give it properly. Not only can one share, but they will have access to the work of others to read, enjoy and learn from. On top of that, the officers are more than glad to work one-on-one with any writer to workshop their script outside the confines of the meetings and will make a point to read all submissions in full. Along with feedback on scripts, Table Write is also open to evaluating ideas, pitches, concepts and even prose that's looking to be adapted to the screen. We live to help you get that feedback writers need.
