World Mental Health Day

Coming up on Monday October 10th is World Mental Health Day. This is a day to educate people about mental health and create awareness for the variety of issues that may be invisible to the eye. This day is important because it provides resources and care to those who may need a little extra help and helps serve communities around you. There are many ways to participate in World Mental Health Day including breaking the stigma around mental health by creating conversations and participating in events in your community. A conversation hosted by the counseling center at Columbia will be held on Monday the 10th in the student center from 11am to 12pm. To participate in that discussion signup on the engage portal. Another way to get involved is by looking at local mental health services around Chicago and see what resources they are providing. Two organizations that hold high esteem in Chicago are Hope for the Day and Coffee, Hip-Hop, and Mental Health. Have a great World Mental Health Day and spread kindness.
