Spring break is approaching fast! Now that the stress of midterms are finally over, you may be asking yourself what to do now. Luckily, for those of you staying in Chicago there are plenty of opportunities and activities to do on a budget. Enjoy your free time by:
-
Visit Lake Michigan. The lake is a quick walk from most dorm/apartment complexes by campus, and free! Grab a beach towel and spend the day at the beach or have a chill walk near the water to clear your mind.
-
Check out a new local coffee shop. So many small coffee shops have been popping up recently, it’s the perfect opportunity to find your new favorite latte spot.
-
Pick up a new TV show. Streaming Services are constantly dropping new shows every week, usually small and digestible shows. Try one out and find your newest obsession!
-
Start a new creative project. This week off is the perfect time to sink your teeth into anything you’ve been putting off because of schoolwork. Start a YouTube channel, start writing a book, or anything else you want to try!
-
Sleep in. It’s so easy to forget what it’s like to sleep past breakfast because of our crazy schedule but take this week to shamelessly sleep until you decide to wake up. Just don’t forget to turn off your alarms!
-
Have a self-care day. Sometimes, all you need is just a day for yourself with no outside interaction. Put on a face mask, order takeout and just enjoy complete relaxation.
-
Go to a local show. Chicago has lots of events constantly going on, so scour EventBrite, TicketMaster, ConcertFul, and Facebook!
All in all, take this spring break as a vacation from your normal life! Visit that restaurant you pass every day or open a book your friend recommends. Enjoy the class-free and stress-free week and just take it easy. Enjoy your break!
