Indigenous Peoples Day originally started as a day for Boy Scouts of America to observe other cultures in 1914 and has since blossomed into a national holiday! After many petitions to the senate and many name changes later: we were given a beautiful holiday to celebrate histories, cultures, and perspectives of Indigenous peoples and their ancestors who lived on the land now known as North America. This year, Indigenous Peoples Day falls on Monday, October 10th and there are so many fun ways to embrace this holiday!
