With Award season right around the corner, here are a few films you may have missed during winter break. Were their nominations earned? Were they snubbed? You decide!
1. Nosferatu- Robert Eggers’ take on the classic 1922 film and story of Dracula, Nosferatu is a haunting (and visually stunning) film. Lily Rose Depp proves the importance of physical acting in the horror genre, and the spooky scenery of 1830s Germany will leave you speechless.
2. A Complete Unknown- Timothée Chalamet plays the iconic and generational Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s biopic spanning Dylan’s first 5 years in New York after moving from Minnesota. Filled with music and memorable performances, it makes you nostalgic for a time you weren’t even born in.
3. Babygirl - Nicole Kidman's newest film is full of spice, but has so much more behind it. Babygirl unpacks intimate relationships and the power they can have over you with such grace and attention to detail. The film plays out like one crazy soap opera you can't look away from! While there are some graphic scenes, it's not your average 50 Shades of Grey romance at all.
4. Flow- Nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best International feature at this year’s Oscars, Flow is the story of a black cat who is displaced during a great flood. With its adorable style and heartwarming story, it’s one you won’t want to miss.
