If you’re feeling anything like me, then this semester has been the longest one we’ve had in a while! I think it has to do with the fact that for most of us, this is our first semester almost back to entirely in person since Covid began! I’ve been having mixed feelings about being back in person. It’s a bit of a jolt when you go from being completely online to nearly completely in person again. It can feel kind of draining for many of us. What I have been trying to remind myself is that the end is in sight! We’re almost done, so might as well finish out strong, right? I’ve decided that these next 2-3 weeks before the end of the semester will be filled with a lot more patience and kindness towards myself. The kinder we are to ourselves, the better our days are going to be. Some things I’m deciding to implement are as follows:
-
Ample breaks! This means not using any electronics or distractions for 15 minutes, so I can ensure I’m clearing my mind so it’s easier to rid any kind of anxiety.
-
Clean my space! Anytime you’re dreading cleaning remember: “I am a great person and I deserve to live and work in a clean environment.”
-
Get some time alone! Consistently speaking or interacting with others can be very draining for many of us and a good way to recharge our batteries is by simply spending more time to ourselves.
-
Treat myself! This doesn’t mean buying out Uber Eats every day or getting coffee (although it’s okay if that is what it is!), I mean nourishing myself mind, body, and soul. Incorporating more time to make a quick and healthy home-cooked meal, taking a bath, stretching my body even if I can’t do a whole workout, and drinking lots of water.
These are just a few things that I’m going to be incorporating over the next few weeks as we close out the semester and I encourage you try out some of the things on this list or maybe even create your own list!
Yours Truly,
CiCi
