Fall is the perfect time to reorganize your life and get back to some sort of a structure. Starting a routine now after experiencing last year has made me really reconsider where my priorities lie and I think most people can relate to this. I’ve decided going into this semester and really rest of this year, that things will be different. Pre-pandemic, I didn’t have any top priorities other than just putting school before everything. Because I placed so much importance on one thing, I actually ended up stressing about it way more than was healthy for my body and my mind. Because it was so important, I neglected other areas of my life such as: relationships, social life, taking care of my mental and physical health, and I stopped putting as much effort into work.
Over this past summer, I have been able to come to this level of self-awareness that has allowed me to understand that my family and friend relationships, my mental and physical health, and my inner peace are top priority for me always. When your mental and physical health are a top priority, you’re able to have a higher tolerance for stressors in your life. While your other priorities may differ from mine, everyone should make mental and physical health their first.
