As you settle into your classes, be sure to take advantage of Columbia's campus resources: Study between classes in the Library. Get extra help at the Academic Center for Tutoring. And, if applicable, request accommodations through SSD.
If you have a disability that substantially limits your ability to perform one or more major life activities, you may be eligible for accommodations through SSD (Services for Students with Disabilities).
Accommodations can include—but are not limited to—things like extended time on tests, notetaking services, alternative formats for class materials, and interpreting services.
You can apply for accommodations by registering with SSD and submitting documentation of your disability. Once registered with SSD, you will need to request accommodations letters be sent to your instructors every semester. For more information, email ssd@colum.edu.
